Jim Nygren is President of VGM Insurance Services, a division of VGM Group, Inc., where he leads the strategic direction, operations, and financial performance of one of the nation’s largest insurance and risk management platforms serving member-based organizations. VGM Insurance Services provides specialized insurance solutions and risk management services to more than 8,000 customers across the home medical equipment, home health and hospice, physical therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, and golf and hospitality industries. His responsibilities include enterprise risk evaluation, underwriting and pricing strategy, regulatory and compliance oversight, claims management, captive and reinsurance structuring, and carrier relationship management.

In addition to his role at VGM Insurance Services, Jim is responsible for leading investment strategy, capital deployment, and acquisition initiatives for VGM Group, with a strong focus on long-term ESOP growth, sustainability, and shareholder value. He works closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to evaluate strategic opportunities, oversee financial performance, and ensure alignment with VGM’s long-range objectives.

Jim joined VGM in 2014 and has held multiple leadership roles within the organization, including positions at VGM HOMELINK. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer of VGM Group, Inc., where he was a key business advisor and financial leader to VGM’s operating divisions and the ESOP community. His ESOP experience includes valuation analysis, sustainability planning, repurchase obligation modeling, and structural optimization to support long-term employee ownership.

Jim also serves on numerous community and industry boards, both nonprofit and for-profit. In these roles, he contributes to strategy development, risk oversight, capital structure decisions, and executive accountability, bringing a disciplined financial and risk management perspective to board-level discussions.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Iowa State University. He also holds several professional designations, including CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter), CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), ARe (Associate in Reinsurance), AIC (Associate in Captive Insurance), and ARM (Associate in Risk Management).
