Alexis Ward joined Cubby Beds in December 2024 as Head of Funding & Advocacy. With over 25 years of experience in the Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) and Complex Mobility sectors of Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Alexis brings deep expertise to her role. Her career spans various positions, from customer service to compliance officer to Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), though she found her passion in her focus on Medicaid and commercial payer rate negotiations, coverage policy improvement, and advocacy.
Before joining Cubby Beds, Alexis served as Senior Director of Payer Relations at AAHomecare and as Vice President of Payer Relations at a national CRT provider. She has also been actively involved in advocacy and leadership within the industry, serving on the executive committee and board of directors for the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART), as well as the boards of state DME/CRT associations across multiple states.
Throughout her career, Alexis has made significant contributions to advancing the CRT sector, including her leadership as chair of the AAHomecare Complex Rehab and Mobility Council (CRMC), participation in the AAHomecare Regulatory Council, and membership on the Medicare Jurisdiction C Advisory Council. She has been recognized for her commitment to customer solutions and consumer advocacy, and has truly enjoyed her long-standing involvement in lobbying efforts in Washington, DC to improve coverage and reimbursement rates for CRT services.
