Description

Now more than ever, advocacy is critical to every HME provider and the patients they serve. Whether you've never been involved or are a seasoned advocate, this session will provide you with information on challenges we are facing as an industry as well as strategies that you can employ to become a “Champion of Change.”

Proposed Learning Objective (1)
Identify current legislation impacting HME providers and describe the roles of key lawmakers involved in shaping that legislation.
Proposed Learning Objective (2)
Analyze key lessons learned from past legislative efforts and identify at least two priority areas of focus for the current Congress that impact the industry.
Proposed Learning Objective (3)
Define key advocacy concepts and outline at least two initial steps individuals can take to begin engaging in advocacy efforts.
Proposed Learning Objective (4)
Develop strategies to engage with policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels by identifying at least two engagement approaches and describing how each can influence policy outcomes.
