Learning Objectives

Name
Home-Centered Sleep Apnea Care: The New Role of HMEs
Description

Explore the changing landscape of sleep apnea diagnostics and therapeutics with HME positioned as the center of care.

Proposed Learning Objective (1)
Analyze the shift from sleep center to home based sleep apnea testing and therapeutics.
Proposed Learning Objective (2)
Evaluate how HME-generated data (CPAP adherence, leak trends, remote monitoring, ventilation metrics) can be integrated into clinical decision-making pathways to improve patient outcomes and streamline workflows.
Proposed Learning Objective (3)
Apply and design expanded service models—including home ventilation, oxygenation management, and remote diagnostics—and identify the evolving competencies, staffing models, and reimbursement frameworks needed to operationalize these services within their organizations.
Proposed Learning Objective (4)
Evaluate where multi-modality therapy fits within sleep apnea care by comparing at least two treatment approaches and identifying one patient situation where multi-modality therapy may be appropriate.
