Molly Wilson is the Controller for VGM Group, Inc. In her role as Controller, she oversees various aspects of VGM’s financial processes including accounts payable and receivables, payroll, ESOP benefits and compensation, budget management, and compliance. In 2022, Molly was a finalist for the Van G. Miller Employee Owner of the Year Award.
Molly joined VGM in 2018 as Senior Accountant, progressing to Assistant Controller in January 2019, and advanced to her current role in 2022. Prior to her tenure at VGM, she garnered extensive experience at Lee Enterprises in Waterloo, advancing through their accounting department over six years to become Controller. Her career includes substantial roles in accounting and auditing at Arthur Andersen, LLP, Deloitte & Touche, Alliant Energy, and the University of Northern Iowa Foundation.
Molly also contributes to her community by serving as the treasurer for Inclusion Connection and previously held the same position for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa.
She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, where she retains a strong connection as an enthusiastic Panther fan.
A native of Farley, Iowa, Molly resides in Waterloo with her husband Todd, a retired law enforcement officer, and their dog Gracie. In her leisure time, she enjoys hiking, volleyball, and golf.
